From now on, the rest of the playoffs, I will all of my “hockey quotes of the week” on players who have won the Stanley Cup to pay in the past.

If you play hockey, you know, Gordie Howe.

Mr. Hockey, as it is called, was one of the first – if not the first – hockey player, to create a lasting impression on the world of hockey. He put a bar in which all players since have tried to achieve. Of course, it has been reported since then, what with the likes of superstars such as Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemiuex and soon Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin. But really, you’d be hard pressed to a similar solution for all Gordie As was to be found – and still is – the game of hockey.

One of the reasons we are all so familiar with the body of Gordie Howe work because his statistics are not only span a few seasons, they span decades. It is the only hockey player who competed in the NHL for five decades. He went with the Red Wings at the age of 52.

The results?

1767 games, 801 goals, 1850 points. Not to mention his whole way WHA. He has six Art Ross Trophies, six Hart Trophies and won four Stanley Cups. Pretty awesome stuff if you ask, this saddle hockey.

Gordie Howe toughness, firmness and elasticity by a physically demanding sport all these years speaks volumes about his passion for the game he takes a long time with this great quote: “You have to love what you do. If you want to You can overcome the disability or pain, or pain and play on for a very, very long time. “

I think this line is a little bit about what the players go through during this time in the playoffs (for example, Thomas Vanek back last night for the playoff game and Marc Savard is expected to play in the next round of playoffs). Hockey is a unique sport that requires the efforts of its best players. And those who give the most are those who think we in the highest respect.
